Laundry as White and Pure as Milk: You Only Need This Ingredient

That “secret ingredient” people talk about is usually baking soda—simple, cheap, and surprisingly effective.

Why baking soda works:

Whitens fabrics naturally (without harsh bleach)

Removes odors (sweat, damp smell)

Softens water, helping detergent work better

Lifts stains gently without damaging clothes

How to use it:

For regular washing:

Add ½ cup baking soda directly into the drum with your clothes

Use your normal detergent

Wash as usual

For extra whitening:

Soak clothes in warm water + 1 cup baking soda for 1–2 hours

Then wash normally

Important tips:

Works best on white cotton and light fabrics

Avoid overusing on delicate materials like silk

Don’t mix excessively with strong chemicals

Bonus trick:

For even brighter results, combine baking soda with a little white vinegar (added during rinse cycle—not at the same time)

It won’t turn old yellow clothes pure white instantly, but with regular use, it noticeably improves brightness and freshness.
